Hello, my name is Nikolay Korygin. I am an Austin-based production and event lighting designer ready to illuminate your next production or event with creativity, and precision. Having a passion for creating immersive experiences through light, I bring expertise and enthusiasm to every project I undertake.

Education:
Currently slated to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2024, earning a B.S. in Arts and Entertainment Technology with a focus on Projection, Lighting, Animation, and Interactivity from the School of Design and Creative Technology, as well as a Minor in Business from the McCombs School of Business.

Professional Experience and Current Employment:
I've been actively engaged in the lighting industry since 2022, growing my skills and expertise in concert, EDM, club, and dance lighting. Currently, I serve as a subcontractor for ILIOS Production Design & Event Technologies in Austin, Texas, where I contribute to creating unforgettable visual experiences for events of all sizes. Additionally, I hold the role of Quality Control Specialist, ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of their extensive inventory, as well as conducting moderate equipment repairs. On occasion, you can find me running shows at The Marc, a popular EDM venue in San Marcos, Texas. I am known for having a passion for high-impact lighting, dance lighting, EDM, and timecoded lighting, and enjoy working in team environments.

Interests:
Beyond the world of lighting design, I live a healthy and active lifestyle, frequently in the gym, on a run, or enjoying the outdoors under the sun. Having been raised as a dancer by two former ballet dancers, I greatly enjoy watching and or working on any performances with artistic movement. My passion for creativity and technological innovation lead me to constantly explore any new forms of artistic expression. I take inspiration from anyone who strives to push the envelope of technology and art.
